Dr. Amy Person

Over 15 years in women's health — and one pattern that shaped a practice.

Dr. Amy Person has spent over 15 years in women's health — first as a prenatal and pediatric chiropractor, then as a functional medicine specialist. But what shaped her practice wasn't a credential. It was a pattern she kept seeing and was also experiencing herself.

Women who knew something was wrong. Who had done their own research, who had seen multiple providers, who had been told their labs were normal and their symptoms were just stress or age or anxiety. Who were managing their conditions instead of actually getting better.

Dr. Amy decided to do something different.

"Your body isn't broken. It's trying to tell you something."

A different premise

Symptoms are signals. Patterns have causes.

Functional health starts from a different premise than conventional medicine. Symptoms are signals — they're the body asking for something. A headache isn't a Tylenol deficiency. Fatigue isn't a caffeine deficiency. Hormonal chaos isn't inevitable. These are patterns, and patterns have causes.

Dr. Amy's work is about finding those causes. She looks at the whole picture — nutrition, gut health, hormonal patterns, stress, sleep, history — and she looks for where things broke down. Then she builds a plan that actually addresses it, using food and lifestyle and targeted support, not a prescription to manage the surface.

She works with women because women's bodies are different — hormonally, physiologically, and in the way their symptoms have historically been dismissed. She has spent her career learning those differences and building an approach that honors them. She also understands what that's like on a personal level.

Philosophy

A few things Dr. Amy knows to be true:

  • Nutrition is medicine. What you eat shapes your hormones, your gut, your immune function, your energy — everything. It's the first place to look, not the last.

  • And nutrition alone can't fix everything. Sometimes nutrition plus additional support is what's needed to correct a root problem.

  • You are not a collection of separate systems. Your hormones affect your gut. Your gut affects your immune system. Your immune system affects your hormones. This is why treating one thing at a time rarely works.

  • "Normal" lab ranges are not the same as optimal. A result can sit inside a reference range and still signal dysfunction. Context matters.

  • You know your body better than any doctor does. Dr. Amy's job is to give you the clinical framework to understand what it's telling you.

  • Medication is sometimes the right answer. But it should never be the first answer when the root cause hasn't been addressed.

Credentials

The training behind the approach.

Dr. Amy began her career as a diplomate certified prenatal and pediatric chiropractor — a specialty that gave her a deep foundation in how the body functions as a whole system, and a particular sensitivity to the needs of women at every stage of reproductive life.

Over time, she pursued additional training in functional medicine and became a certified gut health practitioner, studying under physicians she respected across state lines. Her practice has grown to include clients nationally and internationally — which is why she moved to a fully telehealth model.

Longer appointments. More time in your history. No waiting rooms. The same depth of care, wherever you are.
